Garden Design Process

Taffy gives me such joy. There is not much better than planning gardens and searching for plants with Taffy. Not only is she wonderful company and very knowledgeable about plants and their proper settings she can seamlessly incorporate new with the old while staying within the budget. I look forward to working with her for many years to come building on the past twenty years.

Taffy is an incredible landscape designer who is extremely knowledgeable, professional and collaborative. Picea Garden Design was instrumental in designing and installing the gardens around our building, but also the very special woodland garden behind our Maryland Horse Library & Education Center. With their expert guidance, we are now able to enjoy this green space as a tranquil garden and an educational outdoor space.

I have loved working with Taffy. My gardens are quite small and suburban, and they were in tatters when we first met! From the beginning she listened to my concerns and hopes for the gardens. Taffy helped me through the “expansion” of my small gardens through my Homeowners Association Architectural Review process. Her innovative approach to design and plant selection has resulted in a unique garden that feels personal and is beautifully designed. As part of the design process she provided me with a hand-drawn and painted watercolor design to illustrate her vision. She was meticulous in reviewing the selected plant materials with me. Taffy has been a joy to work with. She has brought passion, artistry and expertise to my garden design. I am looking forward to working with her in partnership as my gardens grow.
